Recall of certain batches of CBD oils due to ‘unsafe’ levels of THC

The FSAI has issued a recall of three CBD oil products due to the presence of “unsafe Levels of Delta‐9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).”

Funky CBD Oils are being recalled due to the presence of unsafe levels of delta‐9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (∆9THC). The products listed below are unauthorised novel foods due to the use of CO2 and ethanol extraction in their production and should not be on the EU market. The implicated products were sold online.

The Funky CBD Oils are unsafe as they contain unsafe levels of delta‐9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (∆9THC) in excess of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) acute reference dose (Article 14.1 of Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 (S.I. No 747 of 2007).

The safety of these unauthorised novel food products has not been assessed and they should not be on the EU market (Article 6.2 of Regulation EU  2015/2283, S.I. No 253 of 2022).

Consumers are advised not to consume the products. The affected batches are below:
