Public health expert Dr. Gabriel Scally opines that Ireland adopts a leaky quarantine system as they input more exemptions into their rules. This would be very dangerous and it makes no good impact.
The Department of Health had included many loopholes in the system which relaxed the rules for fully vaccinated people and elite athletes. Families with a newborn baby also exempted from the quarantine measures. This could make way for the new variant of virus to sneak into the country.
The vaccination exemptions applies only to EMA approved vaccines. Complete vaccination using vaccines made in China and Russia will not consider for quarantine exemptions in Ireland. The European Commission had also asked the State to introduce more exemptions in quarantine rules.
