Air India will start direct flight from Cochin to Heathrow Airport in London from 18 August. The AI 150/149 aircraft will arrive in Kochi at 03.45 am and will depart for London at 05.50 am on Wednesdays, confirmed Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) authorities. The decision comes just after England moves India from its red list of Covid countries to amber.
To persuade more direct flights to European countries, CIAL have decided to waive the parking and landing fee for carriers from Europe.
The decision is a big relief for expatriates from Kerala in Ireland too. From now on they can reach London within just 10 hours of journey from Cochin and it would be easier for them to travel Ireland from there.
