National Broadband Ireland (NBI) has announced that 65,000 homes, farms, and businesses will gain earlier access to high-speed broadband under the National Broadband Plan (NBP).

These premises are now scheduled for completion in 2025, up to nine months ahead of their original timeline.
The accelerated schedule includes 32,000 premises originally slated for 2026 that have been brought forward to NBI’s works for 2025. This adjustment is part of NBI’s ongoing efforts to expedite the delivery of the Government’s broadband initiative.
NBI, a wholesale network operator, does not sell fibre broadband directly to consumers but works through nearly 70 participating providers to enable connections.
To date, NBI has rolled out high-speed fibre broadband to 320,829 premises, with over 110,043 already connected.
The network continues to expand rapidly, with more than 4,500 new connections being established each month.
