According to The Journal, Bohemian Football Club’s historic Dalymount Park is set to receive €24.7 million in funding for a comprehensive redevelopment project, with Minister for Sport Catherine Martin expected to make the official announcement today.
The funding is part of a larger €173 million grant package being distributed to 35 sports projects across Ireland under the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund. This follows Dublin City councillors’ earlier approval of a €40 million redevelopment plan for the Phibsborough stadium in February.
The renovation plans include:
- Complete demolition of existing structures
- Construction of a new 6,240-seat stadium with additional standing capacity for 1,794
- Reorientation of the pitch to north-south with new sand-based grass
- New changing rooms, match-day facilities, and club offices
- Community facilities including a function room, community gym, and multi-functional room
- Provision for 12 car parking spaces and 50 bicycle spaces
