Dublin Airport to recruit up to 100 new security staff amid rising passenger demand

Dublin Airport has announced plans to hire up to 100 new security officers in the coming months.

The recruitment drive comes as part of efforts to meet growing passenger numbers and ensure smoother operations.

The airport operator, daa, is offering these roles as permanent full-time positions with a starting salary of €17.47 per hour.

Additional benefits include access to a pension scheme, career progression opportunities, subsidised staff meals, and discounts within the airport.

This initiative follows earlier challenges faced by Dublin Airport when it struggled to manage the surge in passengers after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Insufficient security staffing during this period led to significant delays and long queues, drawing widespread criticism. The daa has since focused on bolstering its security team to improve efficiency and enhance the travel experience.

The recruitment drive also aligns with daa’s broader plans to accommodate more passengers at Dublin Airport.
