Dublin among the list of top 20 expensive cities in the world to live. The list was prepared by the Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) titled Worldwide Cost of Living index 2021.
The Index is compiled by comparing prices in US dollars for goods and services in 173 cities around the world.
In the list, Israel capital Tel Aviv came to the first position. The city was on the fifth place last year and a surge in exchange rate of Israeli currency, the shekel, against dollar caused the city to climb on to the top. The surge was due to Israel’s successful attempts to prevent Covid in the country through vaccine roll out. As a result of the rise in exchange rate, the expense of goods and services in the city also increased.
Dublin maintains the 19th position in ties with Frankfurt in Germany and Shanghai in China.
The dream city Paris fell to second place this time and ties with Singapore.
