The Waterford Greenway has been named as winner of the ‘Ireland’s Best Visitor Attraction’ in the Irish Independent Reader Travel Awards 2022.
The Waterford Greenway is a 46 km long old railway line from Waterford City to Dungarvan. This magnificent route is famous for off-road cycling and walking, which has eleven bridges, three impressive viaducts and an atmospheric tunnel.
Mayor of Waterford City and County, Cllr. Joe Kelly was delighted with Waterford Greenway’s latest accolade, “It’s fantastic that Waterford Greenway has been chosen by the Irish Independents’ readers as Ireland’s Best Visitor attraction.”
The scenic views of River Suir, the Comeragh Mountains, The Copper Coast UNESCO Global Geopark and Dungarvan Bay also make the area even more attractive.
