A Dublin man has been remanded in custody after being accused of the seizure of €1 million in cocaine and heroin.
Garda raided a private residence in Sandyford, south Dublin, shortly before 7.30 p.m. on Thursday.
Officers seized €560,000 in heroin and €490,000 in cocaine.
According to a spokesperson, the conclusion of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.
John Reeves, 58, of Birches Road, Wedgewood, Sandyford, was arrested and charged last night at Dundrum Garda Station.
He is suspected of illegally possessing cocaine and heroin, as well as holding the substances for sale or supply at his residence.
The offences are in violation of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
The man was detained overnight and appeared at Dublin District Court before Judge Tresa Kelly.
Garda Shane Donovan told Judge Kelly that after being cautioned, Mr Reeves “made no reaction” to the charges.
According to defence attorney Kevin Roche, no application for bail has been made at this time.
Mr Reeves was remanded in custody by Judge Kelly and ordered to appear at Cloverhill District Court via video link on Friday.
The defence stated that if Mr. Reeves intends to apply for bail, garda would be notified.
He was employed and earning €500 a week, according to the court, but he had rent and other expenses. Legal help was made available.
