India vs Pakistan, T20 World Cup, Weather Update: Chances Of Rain Reduce Drastically

India and Pakistan will face off in Group 2 of the current Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup on Sunday at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

India is in Group 2 of the tournament, along with Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh. Following a disappointing season, India and Rohit Sharam will be hoping for better performance in the T20 World Cup in 2022.

More than the game, spectators are anticipating what the weather will be like. It rained strongly on Friday evening, and earlier this week, there was a large expectation of rain, with a 90% chance of rain on Sunday.

However, fans are in for a pleasant surprise, as it seems like the rain has relaxed, and the chances of showers have decreased dramatically.

According to Accuweather, there will be 100% cloud cover around 7 PM Melbourne Time (1:30 PM IST), although the chances of rain are fairly low. The cloud cover would be present throughout the match, which is scheduled to run from 7 PM to 10:30 PM Melbourne Time.

An odd one or two showers are expected, but it is unlikely that the rain will wash out the game.

Cricket, the Gentleman’s Game, prepares for the mother of all rivalries on Sunday, when India takes on Pakistan in Group B of the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12. Despite the rain danger lurking over the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which is expecting a 1 lakh-person crowd, fans are crossing their fingers for a complete 40-over match.

India won the inaugural T20 World Cup back in 2007. Since then, India has yet to win its second title. Team India made the final in 2014 and the semifinals in 2016. Rohit said that India would be fully ready before their game against Pakistan.

“We wanted to come here early and acclimatise to the situation. By the time we play Pakistan, we will be prepared. We don’t believe in last-minute information, I don’t want to believe in telling someone at the last minute that ‘you are playing,” Rohit said.
