Dublin City Council, in collaboration with the Land Development Agency (LDA), has initiated a promising endeavor to address housing needs in Dublin. Named the Bluebell Waterways development, the project aims to construct 400 social and affordable homes along the Grand Canal in Dublin 12.

Comprising a mix of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, the development will offer diverse housing options. Notably, 35% of the homes will be allocated to the social housing scheme, while the remaining units will be available to the public on a cost-rental basis.
Spanning across 2.8 hectares of city council-owned land, the project also includes provisions for open spaces and a crèche, enhancing community amenities and fostering a family-friendly environment.
Before embarking on construction, public input is being actively sought for the next two months. Residents can contribute their suggestions both in-person and online, ensuring that the project aligns with the needs and preferences of the community.
The Bluebell Waterways development stands as a beacon of hope, offering not just homes, but also the promise of a brighter future for Dubliners in need of affordable housing solutions.
