There are thousands of Indians living in Ireland and there are various organizations and associations that represent different states in India. It has been a long dream for people from Bihar and Jharkhand to have their own association and now it has become a reality.
The Bihar and Jharkhand Association of Ireland (BJAI) was inaugurated by the Honourable Indian Ambassador Mr. Sandeep Kumar on Saturday, 25th September 2021. Mr. Kumar welcomed the formation of Bihar Jharkhand Association and gave brilliant speech on many issues like bilateral relationship between India and Ireland, the help and support provided by Ireland to India at the time of COVID and multicultural Ireland.
Lord Mayor of Naas Mr. Seamie Moore was the invited guest at the event and he spoke about the relationship between the two countries and how going forward together can strengthen the relationship. He welcomed the BJAI into Irish society and talked about having a multicultural event soon.
Bihar Jharkhand Association of Ireland (BJAI) is a non-political and non-religious association. The reason to form BJAI is to bring every person from Bihar, Jharkhand living in Ireland to come together on one platform to know each other, celebrate regional festivals, help the community as a whole and pass on the sense of pride of rich heritage to the next generation, said the organizers in a press reease.
BJAI offers hand in providing help and support in the event of any calamities occurring especially in Bihar Jharkhand.

BJAI Secretary Rakesh Kumar Shekhar was the event coordinator and he spoke about the history and legacy of Bihar and Jharkhand state. The inauguration ceremony commenced with the National Anthem of India and Ireland. Live inauguration ceremony was screened to millions at home abroad through Facebook.

Jai Wardhan – Vice-President
Rakesh Kumar Shekhar – Secretary
Avinash Sinha – Treasurer
Committee Members – Abhishek Thakur, Manoj Kumar, Santosh Sharma
BJAI thanked TV media channel Apna Bihar, Irish Indian Chronicle and Mr. Jitendra to broadcast the news on N7 channel and also to publish in print media – Dainik. The BJAI committee also extended thanks to each and every member of BJAI for coming forward to support their own association. To everyone’s surprise there was a congratulation message from the winner of Indian Idol 2021 Pawandeep Rajan to BJAI.
