Beer drinkers in Ireland may soon notice a dent in their wallets as two major brands, Heineken and Guinness, announce price hikes. Heineken Ireland revealed plans to bump up the cost of a pint by 6 cents starting June, citing increased manufacturing expenses. This follows a similar move by Diageo, which raised prices on its Guinness, Carlsberg, and Smithwick brands last month. Guinness, in particular, saw a 9-cent spike. These increases come amid a steady climb in beer prices across the country, with the average pint now costing €5.64, up by 48 cents from last November. With both Heineken and Diageo playing a significant role in Ireland’s beer market, consumers may need to budget a little extra for their favorite brews in the coming months.
