Irish Weather Update: Brief Heatwave Before Rain Returns

Get ready to bask in some rare Irish sunshine as temperatures are set to soar before rain clouds roll back in. The Meteorological Department predicts a brief spell of dry, warm weather across the Emerald Isle until Wednesday, with thermometers expected to hit a balmy 19 degrees Celsius in many areas.

Today, Sunday, promises plenty of sunshine with temperatures ranging between 15 and 18 degrees Celsius, though light showers may sprinkle the evening. As night falls, temperatures will dip to a cool 3 to 7 degrees Celsius, with a touch of mist in some spots.

Monday will see clouds gathering in Ulster, while other regions enjoy clear skies. Expect temperatures between 12 and 15 degrees Celsius in Ulster and north Connacht, with the mercury climbing to 19 degrees elsewhere.

On Tuesday, Connacht and Munster will see some cloud cover, but elsewhere, the sun will be shining bright as temperatures reach 12 to 16 degrees Celsius.

However, by Wednesday, the rain will make a comeback, accompanied by a drop in temperature. While occasional sunshine may break through the clouds, it’ll be a wet day overall.

Thursday will see widespread rain across the country, with Connacht and Munster bearing the brunt of it. Northern regions can expect more sunshine, though temperatures will hover between 8 and 11 degrees Celsius.

So, enjoy the warmth while it lasts, Ireland, because the rain will soon be knocking on our doors again.
