The busiest motorway in the capital city, the M50 motorway was blocked for hours as a truck overturned and shed down its load on to the roads. Emergency services reached the spot suddenly and handled the situation quite nicely.
The truck was on its way towards northbound and the accident happened at. Junction 9 Red Cow. A huge clean up was required to clear the motorway. The public had to choose alternative roads as the two lanes were completely closed between Junction 9 and Junction 11.
Garda and Dublin Fire Brigade reached the spot quickly and M50 operation team shovelled the metals and plaster board which was spiller from the truck. The block of the roads resulted in traffic blocks and delays in the total traffic chain.
A man was injured in the accident and was shifted to the hospital immediately. The injuries were not life threatening. The road has been cleared and reopened for public usage.
