India beat Sri Lanka by 317 runs, breaks record for biggest margin of victory in ODI

India thrashed Sri Lanka by a record 317 runs in the third ODI to clinch the three-match series 3-0 here in Thiruvananthapuram.

.India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first against Sri Lanka in the third and final ODI of the series at the Greenfield International Stadium.

Virat Kohli put up a batting masterclass as he compiled an unbeaten 166 off 110 balls. His and Shubman Gill’s centuries took India to a score of 390/5. 

The Sri Lankan top order was then destroyed by pacer Mohammed Siraj (4/32) as India bowled out the guests for 73 in 22 overs. Kohli remained not out on 166 off 110 balls, while Gill struck 116 off 97 deliveries. Opener Gill and skipper Rohit Sharma (42) put on 95 runs in 15.2 overs before Kohli struck his 46th ODI century and 74th overall in international cricket to consolidate the Indian innings. Kohli and Gill shared 131 runs for the second wicket.
