The Indian aviation ministry declared that the self-declaration form that incoming international passengers had to complete on the Air Suvidha portal has now been eliminated.
The move, as claimed by the government, was made in light of the drop in coronavirus cases and significant improvements in Covid-19 vaccination coverage both globally and in India.
The self-declaration form was supposed to be filled out on the Air Suvidha portal by international passengers. It was a contactless solution taken by India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Health Family Welfare in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The government has also eliminated the need for international arrivals to submit a negative RT-PCR report or specifics of their primary vaccination schedule.
“In the light of sustained declining Covid-19 trajectory and significant advances being made in Covid-19 vaccination coverage both globally as well as in India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued revised ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals,” a notice from the Civil Aviation ministry read.
The updated regulations for international arrivals will take effect on Tuesday (November 22). according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW)
