According to The Journal, Ireland’s brief spell of mild, autumnal weather is about to come to an end as the country prepares for a significant drop in temperatures over the next few days.
Met Éireann’s latest forecast paints a picture of a gradual transition from the current cloudy, drizzly conditions to a much colder, wintry outlook. Today, despite the grey skies, temperatures will still reach a relatively balmy 11-14 degrees Celsius.
However, the mild November days are numbered, as rain is expected to sweep across the country tomorrow night, ushering in a sharp decline in temperatures. By Sunday, the mercury is predicted to dip below freezing, with overnight lows of -2 degrees Celsius.
The unsettled weather pattern is set to continue into next week, with Monday starting off dry but becoming increasingly unsettled and showery as the day progresses. Cloudy, wet, and much colder conditions are the order of the day as Ireland bids farewell to its brief Indian summer.
After an unusually mild start to the month, the Emerald Isle is about to experience a rude awakening to the harsh realities of winter, with rain, wind, and freezing temperatures on the horizon.
