Yet another happiness from boxing ring for Ireland after Aidan Walsh- Irish boxer Kellie Harrington marched to the final in Women’s Lightweight Boxing in Tokyo Olympics after the victory over Thailand’s Sudaporn Seesondee this morning. The Dublin based boxer’s winning was for a decision of 3 against 2 from the judges in the nail-biting match.
Harington had already assured a bronze medal by entering the semifinal after beating Algeria’s Imane Khelif on Tuesday. Her opponent in the final will be Brazil’s Beatriz Ferreira, who won the second semifinal match against Finland’s Mira Marjut Johanna Portkonen.
The 31- year-old Harrington is the eighth Irish Boxer to participate in a final at Olympics.
