Leading home care provider to create 1,000 more jobs across Ireland

The Home care provider ‘Home Instead’ will hire 1,000 more home caregivers for their operations all over Ireland, confirmed the company. The Dublin based company has 4,000 caregivers at the moment who help almost 7,000 old age people in the country with non-medical assistance. The move comes amid the report which states the number of people aged 65 and over would reach 1.4 million in Ireland, which can create a huge demand for home caregivers all over the country.

“As life expectancy increases in Ireland, so too does the need for quality home care – and quality home carers, the new jobs we are creating will help us to build our caregiving workforce of the future, and is also testament to the hard work of our caregivers and team in our 25 offices around the country.” Said Home Instead chief operating officer Shane Jennings. Home Instead is aiming to provide a widened service to older people in urban and rural areas in Ireland in the coming years.

The Taoiseach Michael Martin welcomed the announcement by stating, “We know that in the years ahead, Ireland, like so many countries, will face the challenge of an ageing population. Home care can play an increasingly important role in providing care to our oldest and most vulnerable citizens, many of whom would like to continue living in their homes and communities.”

“These new 1,000 Home Instead jobs come at a vital time for the country – not only as we look to build our future home care needs, but as we look to rebuild the economy as we emerge from the pandemic.” He added.
