McDonald’s Ireland is all set to launch new vegetarian friendly burger after three years of research, reports Dublin Live. The long awaited veg burger known as ‘McPlant’ will be available in all the restaurant’s franchisees from January 2022. The Mcplant was co-developed with Beyond Meat, a company producing vegan meat substitutes in the Irish market.
The McPlant It features a vegan sesame bun, mustard, ketchup, vegan sauce, fresh onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato and vegan cheese, and would deliver the same great taste of other McDonald’s burgers.
“We’re so pleased to be finally launching McPlant in the UK and Ireland.” Michelle Graham-Clare, Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald’s UK and Ireland said.
“As with every McDonald’s offering, we take our time to ensure it meets the highest standards and is something that all our customers will enjoy. “he added.
According to a Wellwoman Vegan study in 2020, 49% of Irish people said they would go vegan for environmental and ethical reasons, while 37% said they would change to vegan diet permanently. Also, Ireland is number 10 among countries all over the world for veganism and ranked number 6 in Europe.
