New Regulations Ban Children Under 16 from Riding Electric Scooters in Public

Starting next Monday, May 20, a new set of regulations will prohibit children under 16 from riding electric scooters in public places. Environment Minister Ryan has signed the Road Traffic Regulations, which include guidelines for electric scooter use. These rules mandate a speed limit of 20km/h on all public roads and forbid scooters from carrying more than one person or having a seat. Additionally, e-scooter users must ensure they do not endanger or inconvenience other road users or pedestrians. The regulations aim to enhance safety and minimize potential hazards associated with electric scooters. Users are urged to comply with these guidelines to ensure their vehicles are safe for road use.
