Nurses at Connolly Hospital in Dublin will stage a protest today to highlight the issues they are facing including heavy work load an unsafe working conditions. These issues also reflect in patient care and the hospital management are continuously neglecting the calls for change, according to the nurses.
The protest will take place at the main entrance of the hospital in Blanchardstown at 1pm.
The INMO also say that, they had contacted the hospital management regarding the issues and even after the discussions their response was not been satisfactory.
“Our members have been through a very challenging time and are heading into winter with an increased workload, and Covid still circulating.” said INMO industrial relations officer Maurice Sheehan.
“Hospital management need to act urgently to keep staff and patients safe. Otherwise, services at the hospital will need to be scaled back to ensure safety for all.” she added.
Earlier the hospital had suspended many non-essential services in the wake of Covid and the INMO calls to do the same due to the ongoing work conditions.
