A total of 3,600 people will be granted Irish citizenship on Monday in three separate ceremonies to be held at the Convention Centre Dublin.
Applicants from 143 different countries who now reside across 32 counties of Ireland will be conferred with Irish citizenship.
The event adds to the 14 citizenship ceremonies already held this year, which saw a total of 11,417 people becoming Irish citizens.
Minister for Justice Helen McEntee, Minister Joe O’Brien, and Minister Neale Richmond will be in attendance at the ceremonies.
In a statement ahead of the ceremonies, Minister McEntee shared her joy about the event. “Today, thousands of people will undertake a life-changing journey and become Irish citizens,” she said .
Minister McEntee also thanked the new citizens for their contribution to Irish society, emphasizing the value they bring to the country’s diversity and vibrancy.
The ceremonies will be presided over by retired Justice Paddy McMahon, who will administer the Declaration of Fidelity to the Irish Nation and Loyalty to the State.
The new citizens will pledge to observe the laws of Ireland and respect its democratic values.
