A post-mortem examination is being carried out today on a deceased man whose body was discovered in mysterious circumstances in Co Monaghan yesterday morning.
The post-mortem findings will guide the garda investigation into his death.
Gardai is expected to provide an update once the post-mortem is completed.
The man was 25 years old and a foreign national, according to reports. Gardai discovered his body on the grounds of a hotel in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, that houses asylum seekers.
Gardai were called by a member of the public and arrived at the scene around 8 a.m.
When the man’s body was discovered, the circumstances surrounding his death were unknown.
