Second day victory for India against England and is the quickest Indian test victory

India have wrapped up the Ahmedabad pink-ball Test match in just over five sessions to secure an unassailable 2-1 lead against England. This is India’s quickest victory in Test cricket in terms of balls bowled ,they have finished the match in 842 deliveries. Making this match shortest completed Test match since 1935 at the world’s biggest cricket Stadium, after 17 wickets had tumbled in the first two sessions of the day, and 30 in the first five all told.

This defeat for England means that they can’t qualify for the World Test Championship final at Lord’s. 

This test match have major milestones for both teams. Joe root of England claiming the astonishing figures of 5 for 8 in 6.2 overs, the most economical five-for by a spinner in Test history, and the first by an England captain since Bob Willis in 1983.

There was R Ashwin of India claiming  400 Test wickets in the course of England’s second-innings subsidence to 81 all out .He is the fourth Indian to reach the landmark, and the second-quickest of any nationality after Muttiah Muralitharan.

Axar Patel, the  local boy from Ahmedabad and debutant for India took total 11 wickets to win the Man of the match award for the Test.

India 145 (Rohit 66, Root 5-8) and 49 for 0 (Rohit 25*) beat England 112 (Crawley 53, Patel 6-38) and 81 (Patel 5-32) by 10 wickets
