Some PTSB bank customers have been facing delays in processing payments today due to a technical issue.
The problem, linked to a third-party payments provider, is causing disruptions for some customers attempting to send or receive SEPA payments.
SEPA, the Single Euro Payments Area, is a crucial system for euro transactions across the EU.
The timing of the issue has exacerbated frustrations, as the last Friday of the month is payday for many workers and coincides with Black Friday, one of the year’s busiest shopping days.
Customers have taken to social media to express dissatisfaction with the delays and the bank’s malfunctioning mobile app.
PTSB acknowledged the problem in a statement, emphasising their efforts to resolve the issue. “We are working hard to resolve the issue and will provide a further update as soon as possible,” the bank said.
Adding to the inconvenience, the PTSB app is currently down, further limiting customer access to their accounts. The bank said it is working to restore app services and reassured users that updates will be provided via its website, social media platforms, and mobile app.
