The Irish Times has selected a list of 20 places in Ireland which are considered to be the best to live in the island. The 20 places were selected out of 470 nominations from each county and voted by 2,400 members from the public. The jury selected various factors to like the final list like natural amenities; buildings; community initiatives and spirit; presence of clubs, societies and activities; good local services; diversity; a welcome for outsiders; transport links; employment opportunities; the price of property and housing supply; cost of living; digital links for distance working; safety and security. Number of nominations too was considered as a factor.
