Three members of family found dead in Kerry; Garda assume murder-suicide

Three members of a family have been found dead in north Kerry on Tuesday. The Garda found dead body of a woman in a house in Ballyreehan, Lixnaw following an information by a neighbour. The body of her son in his 20s too was found inside the home. Both had been shot.

In the following search in the area, the body of the husband of the woman was found in a field. The Garda also found a shotgun near him. The initial conclusion of Garda is a murder-suicide.

The husband and wife were in their 60s and it is believed the mother and son were shot to death before the husband took his life himself. But this is only a first assumption and more investigations are going on, the garda stressed.

The place is sealed off by the garda for thorough investigation and the garda ballistic team will also carry out evidence search.

At the moment, the garda believe no one else is involved.
