Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, nearly 75,000 people have fled the conflict there and arrived in Ireland in the past year.
74,458 Personal Public Service (PPS) numbers have been given by the State to Ukrainian refugees as of the week ending February 12th, according to statistics from the Central Statistical Office (CSO).
Above the age of 20, 46% of those new entrants were women and 21% were men. 33% of the remaining population were children and young adults under 20.
For those over the age of 18, 62% of males and 47% of women were married or cohabiting.
Almost 12,000 newcomers had enrolled as of February 1 in training and further education programmes, 10,680 of whom were taking English language classes.
After coming in the State, approximately 28,774 individuals have attended job support events; 70% of these individuals reported that their English skills presented a problem for them in finding employment.
