Waterford Malayali Association celebrated Onam, a festival that evokes nostalgia

Onam celebrations for the Waterford Malayali Association (WMA) were spectacularly organized in the Ballygunner GAA Club, bringing nostalgic memories.

The event was attended by around 500 individuals.

Secretary Anoop John welcomed the ceremony and the Onam message was delivered by Waterford Syro-Malabar Priest Fr. Jomon Kakanat and Waterford Jacobite Parish Priest Fr. Jobi Scaria.

President Bobby Ipe extended his greetings. At the event, Sunimol Thambi, the head of Jwala, the group’s women’s branch, also participated.

Numerous nostalgic activities took place during the Onam celebration, including Attapookalam, Maveli Ezhunnallat, Onam songs, folk music, Thiruvathira, Vadam Vali, fashion shows, flash mobs, and a number of kid and adult competitions.

A delicious Onasadya has been made by Holigrail Restaurant.

The committee expressed gratitude to the people of Waterford for being part of the success of WMA’s Onam celebrations.
