Revenue seize 2.5 tonnes ‘roll your own’ tobacco worth €1.7 million in Meath

2,500 kg of “roll your own” tobacco were seized by Revenue Officers today during a routine raid at a commercial area in County Meath.

With an estimated retail value of over €1.7 million and a potential loss to the exchequer of over €1.4 million, the illicit tobacco, branded under the name “Flandria Virginia,” originated in the Netherlands.

Investigations are ongoing. 

This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the shadow economy and the supply of illegal tobacco products.
