A 43-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of 32-year-old Eoin O’Connor and 33-year-old Anthony Keegan in County Meath nine years ago.
Ruth Lawrence, with an address at Ross, Mountnugent in County Meath was brought before a special sitting of Trim District Court on Thursday evening.
Detective Garda Raymond Flynn gave evidence that Ms Lawrence was arrested at Dublin Airport at 5.15pm.
Det Flynn told the court that she was taken to Trim Garda Station, where, at around 7:45 p.m., he charged her of killing Anthony Keegan and Eoin O’Connor on an unspecified date between April 22 and May 2014.
On May 26, 2014, the two men’s bodies—who were both from Coolock in Dublin—were discovered on an island in Lough Sheelin, County Meath.
Det Flynn said that he cautioned Ms Lawrence, who made no reply.
Solicitor Danielle O’Sullivan, who was representing Ms Lawrence, applied for legal aid on behalf of her client.
Judge Cormac Dunne granted the application.
Ms Lawrence was remanded in custody and will appear in the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin via video link on 30 May.
