A young man in his 20s,has died after a horror single-vehicle crash in Co Meath, at around 10.30pm on Tuesday.

The incident happened on the L5068 at Knockcommon, Slane. The man received treatment at the scene from paramedics but was later marked dead.

His body was carried to Navan Hospital where a post mortem is set to take place in the coming days. No other injuries were reported as he was alone in the vehicle.

The L5068 (just off the N2) remains closed this morning to allow for a technical examination of the scene by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
