A woman has been injured after being struck in the face by a firework in Galway last night. The woman in her 20s is now being treated in hospital for serious facial injuries.
According to the report, the firework hit her face while she was sitting at a bus stop in Eyre Square. It is also understood that the firework was launched from close to the Tourist Information Kiosk, which is situated across the street from where she was sitting.
The victim has serious “life changing” injuries, said Gardai. Gardai are also appealing any witness to come forward and give details of the unfortunate incident.
The investigating team are looking for anyone who may have video footage of the incident, either on mobile phone, CCTV or dash-cam to make contact with them.
