Bail granted for the boy who kidnapped the teenage girl which made the Garda issue a CRI

The 18 year old boy who was in the custody of Garda following the kidnapping of a 14 year old girl was presented before the district judge via videolink. He was also charged with several motoring offences and indecent image along with the abduction case.

The solicitor of the accused, Sophie McClintock argued that her client had a clean background and is supported by his family. Even though the police officer tried to object the bail, the court granted bail on many conditions.

The court asked the boy to pay €500 for the bail and €5,000 as cash surety. He has to stay at an address agreed by the Police Service of Northern Ireland. He should submit his passport and hi should not try to see or contact the girl whom he kidnapped at any cost.

The case will be called for further arguments on May 4th.
