Expansion of our Mullingar Distribution Centre at Robinstown, Co. Westmeath

A €75 million project that will support at least 1,200 construction jobs during the development phase. As part of this extension project, we have also committed to investing €15,000 in bursaries to local businesses and community groups.

The new extension will increase the capacity of the current facility by c. 15,000sqm. The extended facility will house the largest solar array of Lidl’s properties across Ireland, providing enough energy to meet approximately 25% of the plant’s energy requirements. Building on our sustainable building credentials, the project incorporates 25,000 sqm of new cold rooms cooled by natural refrigerants, heat recovery providing heating to the warehouse, and a pollinator-friendly area with wildflower planting to promote local biodiversity which is essential for the production of the fresh fruit and vegetables Lidl is renowned for.
