Man killed in road crash in Co Waterford

A 30-year-old man was killed in a car accident in County Waterford.

On Sunday afternoon at around 1.30 pm, a car driven by the man and its only occupant collided with a truck on the N25 at Newtown, Kilmacthomas.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that are thought to not be life-threatening.

The N25 is closed pending a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam, and were travelling on the N25 in the vicinity of Newtown between 1.15pm and 1.40pm, are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
