Storm Éowyn sparks nationwide disruption: Key services suspended

An Post has confirmed no postal deliveries or collections tomorrow, with post offices closed during red weather warnings. Services will resume Saturday, including social welfare payments.

Public transport, schools, and creches will also halt operations during the warning. Employers are urged to enable remote work.

Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly warns of potentially record-breaking winds exceeding 150km/h, calling this a “very rare event” across the entire island. The National Emergency Coordination Group is preparing critical infrastructure for expected disruptions.
