Aer Lingus has announced that it will resume transatlantic flights from Shannon Airport to New York and Boston next year. The services will recommence from March 27, 2022 and the move is expected to be a big tourism and employment booster to the area.
Aer Lingus has also announced that they will continue their service to Heathrow Airport which have been started recently.
Speaking about the news, Shannon Group chief executive Mary Considine said: “Today is a great day for the West of Ireland economy. It is great to get these strategic routes back which support thousands of jobs across the tourism and industry sectors.”
Separately US carrier United Airlines have also announced recommencement of their nonstop Shannon to New York/Newark service from March 27 next year as well. The daily nonstop seasonal service between Dublin and Washington D.C. is set to resume on February 12, 2022. The Dublin to Chicago service will resume on March 27, 2022. These services join United’s existing daily nonstop year-round service from Dublin to New York/Newark.
