Bank of Ireland has announced an extension of the deadline for updating its app on older smartphones and tablets. Originally set for yesterday, the deadline has now been pushed back to July 1, granting customers additional time to either purchase a new device or update their current software.
The decision to halt app updates stems from the inability of older versions of Apple’s iOS and Android to receive updates from their respective manufacturers. Without these updates, devices are left vulnerable to security threats.
Starting July 1, the Bank of Ireland app will only support devices running iOS 15 and above, as well as Android version 11 and newer. Customers who are unable to use
