Restaurants and bars reopened on Monday as Greece moves towards easing Covid restrictions as they plan their tourist season later this month. Greece re-imposed their lockdown measures as the second wave of pandemic hit the country, and in the gap of six months, they are pretty confident in taking a step towards normality again.
As the vaccine rollout gathered pace, the government decided not to miss out on another tourist season which accounts for one fifth of the countries economic output. Greek Prime minister is confident that the lockdown measures have stabilised the pandemic spread and gives the green light to reopen the country without a resurgence of infections.
3 million vaccines have been administered out of a population of 11 million and borders of the state have been opened for visitors from many countries if they could present the Covid negative certificate or vaccination status.
