The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 8,910 PCR-confirmed cases of COVID-19. In addition, on Wednesday 23 March, 14,215 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal.
It brings the combined total of Covid-19 cases reported today to 23,125.
As of 8 am today, 1,425 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of whom 53 are in ICU.
