Diverse Celebration: 1,200 Welcomed as Irish Citizens in Dublin Ceremony

Dublin, Ireland – In a landmark citizenship ceremony at the National Concert Hall, 1,200 individuals from 105 countries and across all 31 counties of Ireland were granted Irish citizenship. Led by Ministers Paschal Donohoe and James Browne, the event marked the first such ceremony of the year. Justice Minister Helen McEntee extended her congratulations to the new citizens.

India led the pack with 243 individuals receiving Irish citizenship, followed by Brazil with 99 and the UK with 81. Notably, over 10% of the new citizens are employed in Ireland’s health sector, reflecting the diverse contributions of individuals who have chosen to make the country their home. The ceremony underscores Ireland’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity, celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that now form an integral part of the nation.
