This summer, Dublin Airport is hiring security personnel to add to its workforce in the capital.
The airport is now paying a starting salary of €33,112 and hourly earnings of €15.88 (including shift pay).
At Dublin Airport, the Airport Search Unit Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining the safe and effective flow of travellers through the security checkpoints.
Previous security experience is not required, according to the job posting on the daa website, since candidates will get thorough training over a number of weeks.
Airport security personnel will be in charge of checking all travellers and their belongings, notifying authorities of any security-related incidents, inspecting cars, screening airport supplies, and more.
The ideal applicant must have strong communication skills, be flexible to operate in a 24/7 shift setting, and have professionalism in manner and attitude.
The hiring procedure for these positions will comprise, as stated in the job posting, one online assessment, one in-person interview, a five-year background check, garda vetting, and pre-employment medical (including a colour vision test).
This would be a permanent role, and there are three contract types to choose from:
- 40 hours guaranteed weekly, but flexibility required to work shifts across a 7-day roster
- 30-40 hours weekly – 30 hours guaranteed but flexibility required to work up to 40 hours weekly as required across a 7-day roster
- 20-hour weekend contract – flexibility required to work various shifts across Fri/Sat/Sun
