This June Bank Holiday Weekend, Dublin will host a free, family-friendly French Food Festival.
On Saturday, June 3 from 12 to 7 p.m., the festival will bring popular Normandy foods, beverages, and music to St. Patrick’s Park. Numerous Normandy food trucks will show up and serve delicious sweet and savoury dishes all day long, according to Dublin Live.
Traditional French crepes stuffed with cheese and other ingredients, fresh brioches topped with delights from Normandy, and prime beef served with creamy camembert and Neufchatel cheese on a soft bun are some of the foods Dublin foodies will be able to try.
A Normandy sweet treats tasting will also be on offer, as well as cheese classics like Camembert, Neufchatel and Isigny Mimolette, crowned the best cheese in the world this year. Visitors will also have the opportunity to bring some home.
Traditional breweries will be available, and guests may sample a variety of drinks, including cider, apple brandies, and distinctive and real Normandy cocktails. Cooking enthusiasts will have access to free classes and demos.
To top the celebrations off, visitors of each of the food tour stops will be entertained by the French indie rock band For the Hackers, who will be performing for the very first time in Ireland. Hailing from Normandy, these musicians will be playing on top of their solar-powered bus.
Director of Normandy Tourism Michael Dodds comments on the planned Normandy Food Tour, saying, “We are very excited to take the Normandy Food Tour to Ireland. We value our shared heritage with Ireland and we look forward to building upon those connections this June.”
