A 50-year-old man has been arrested with 1.5 kg of cocaine in North Cork. Gardai stopped and searched his car on the N20 at Rathduff around 2pm and discovered cocaine worth €100,000 market value.
He has since been arrested and being questioned at Mallow Garda station. The gardai can keep the suspect under custody up to 7 days in cases like drug trafficking.
The suspected cocaine has been sent for forensic evaluation.
