The body of a man was found by Garda on Wednesday while they were looking into an alleged assault in Co. Kildare.
When a woman showed up at Newbridge Garda Station early on Wednesday morning, Kildare Garda received a report of an alleged assault.
The 30-year-old woman was later taken to Naas General Hospital to receive medical attention for her wounds. It is believed that her wounds are not life-threatening.
Following the alleged assault, garda went to a residence in Kildare’s Newbridge neighbourhood and found a man’s body who was in his 40s.
Later, his body was taken from the scene and interred at the Naas General Hospital Mortuary. The morning of Thursday has been set aside for a postmortem.
The results of the postmortem will determine how the investigation proceeds.
