‘Naatu Naatu’ is the first Indian song to win a prestigious award.
The award represents the movie’s first success at the ceremony. Additionally, the movie is up for Best Foreign Language Film. SS Rajamouli cheered for Naatu Naatu as soon as it was announced that it had won the award, and he was soon joined by Jr NTR and Ram Charan. The award was presented on Wednesday by actress Jenna Ortega.
Music composer M. M. Keeravani accepted the award for the team. In his acceptance speech, the music director thanked the team and his family.
To win the Best Original Song award, Naatu Naatu surpassed Ciao Papa from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, and Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The Ram Charan and Jr. NTR-starring film, which is directed by SS Rajamouli and also features Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in cameo roles, has been receiving a tonne of support from both domestic and foreign audiences.
The movie has received support from a number of well-known directors, and many believe it has a good chance of not only being nominated but also taking home major prizes at the Oscars in 2023.
