Irish player becomes first national EuroDreams winner with €7.2 million prize

An Irish lottery player has made history by becoming the country’s first EuroDreams top prize winner, securing €20,000 monthly payments for the next 30 years in Monday night’s draw.

The National Lottery confirmed the winner matched all six numbers plus the dream number, earning the maximum prize worth €7.2 million paid as tax-free monthly installments over three decades.

A second Irish player also struck lucky in the same draw, winning €2,000 monthly for five years after matching five numbers plus the dream number.

Monday’s winning combination was 1, 3, 5, 11, 20, 31 with dream number 5. The National Lottery will reveal the locations where both winning tickets were purchased in coming days.

National Lottery spokesperson Darragh O’Dwyer described the win as “life changing” and celebrated what he called a “dream double-win for Ireland.” He encouraged all players to check their tickets, noting they could be among Ireland’s newest major winners.

EuroDreams operates across eight European countries – Ireland, Austria, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland – making it a transnational lottery competition.

The structured payout system means the top prize winner will receive guaranteed monthly income equivalent to many people’s annual salaries, providing long-term financial security rather than a single lump sum payment.

The historic win marks Ireland’s entry into EuroDreams’ top prize winners’ circle, demonstrating the game’s growing popularity since its European launch.
